About Donna

It has been a dream of mine to own my own business; my passion and natural instinct is to help others, but as a lone parent I had to work to support my children, which at the time was more important than following my dream.

When I was young, for some unknown reason, I was drawn towards Chinese beliefs. In the very beginning it was Chinese horoscopes; from there I developed a special interest in Chinese healing. I have always preferred natural and alternative therapies.

I raised two beautiful children, both of whom are now grown up and have left home, and both of whom I am very proud. However, having worked for many years in jobs offering no sense of satisfaction, I was never fulfilled. One day, sitting at work, I thought to myself ‘I can’t do this anymore’ so, in a moment of madness, I decided to resign from my job!

I wondered where that inner feeling came from which overpowered me and caused me to make such a rash decision; ‘Are you Brave or stupid, Donna?’ was the question I asked myself! But as I left work that day, I knew exactly what I was going to do and I felt a surge of energy and excitement – that was the moment Ai Ziji (meaning ‘Love yourself’ in Chinese) was born. Since making that decision I am now happy, fulfilled and complete as I know I am helping others.
